Player Highlights: The Heroes of the Dome
- The Wall in Goal: Kai was a force of nature "between the sticks." He kept an incredible four clean sheets, putting his body on the line and organizing the defence with the authority of a pro.
- The Goal Machines: Malachi led the scoring with 4 goals, looking as if the ball was glued to his feet. Leuan was a constant threat up front, netting twice, while Beau provided the magic on the wing, scoring two "worldies" and narrowly missing out on a hat-trick.
- The Midfield Engines: Callum commanded the centre of the park with composure and vision, scoring two goals of his own. Parker showed leadership, scoring with his very first touch in the final game to cap off a brilliant performance.
- Defensive Giants: Luca was a true stalwart, winning every challenge and threading passes to the wings. Oliver was "a pain in the side" for attackers, defending resolutely and providing two assists. He also won the hearts of the crowd with his excellent sportsmanship, helping opponents to their feet (after toppling them 😉)
- The Team Players: Charlie worked tirelessly, pressing the opposition and winning the ball back repeatedly. Rohin proved to be the ultimate utility player, stepping out of his preferred position for the good of the team and growing in confidence with every minute played.
A Performance to Remember
While the score lines were impressive, it was the spirit of the Moorlands squad that truly shone. From Malachi’s powerful dribbling to Kai’s vital saves and Oliver’s kindness on the pitch, the boys represented our school with pride.
A huge well done to the entire squad for a superb day of football!
